Help & Instructions
Here you will find simple instructions for using this program, designed to assist you in your personal and community prayer life. Here you can keep a record of your prayer requests while also learning about the needs of others and praying for them.
The program offers you two basic tools, and you can use both: (1) it allows you to submit your prayer requests anonymously to the group, asking others to pray for them, and (2) it allows you to keep a personal and private “diary” of the people and situations you want to pray for regularly; no one has access to your diary except you. Every request you share with the community is anonymous; you do not need to provide your name or email address. All personal prayer requests you save in your diary are private and no one else can read them; they are for your personal use as reminders to pray for them. Your diary also gives you the option to record answers to your prayers and celebrate how God has answered them. These two tools do not share or transfer information between each other; the information in each remains separate.
How to Submit a Prayer Request
When you select the green «Submit Prayer» button in the main menu, or follow another link that takes you to the form, you will first need to decide how you want to save and manage your request. The form gives you three options:
- Keep and manage the request: Your request will be public; that is, it may appear on the Prayer Wall, where it can be seen by anyone who visits the page. The Prayer Wall contains all the requests that visitors choose to share with the group. After you submit it, you will receive a Management Key that works somewhat like a password. You can use it later to access and manage that request, tell the group when the prayer has been answered, and share a brief testimony if you wish.
- Save the request in your Prayer Diary: Your request will be private and will not appear on the Prayer Wall; therefore, the community will not see it or be able to pray for it. You will access your private Prayer Diary with a Diary Key, which is different from a Management Key. The Diary Key is created when you submit your first request using the option “I want to save this request in my Prayer Diary” and leave the “Diary Key” field blank. When you submit the form, the program provides the key. You will need to save the key created in this process so that you can enter “My Prayer Diary” whenever you want to review what you have saved there; if you lose it, there is no way to recover it.
You will also use this same Diary Key when creating new prayer requests that you want to add to your diary. This way, you continue using the same diary instead of accidentally creating a new Prayer Diary that replaces the one you already created and its contents.
- Submit a temporary prayer request: Your request will be public and may appear on the Prayer Wall, but you will not receive a Management Key and it will not be saved in your Prayer Diary. As the term suggests, this is a request shared with the community when you do not expect it to need prayer indefinitely. Under the rules of this program, a temporary request will stop appearing on the Prayer Wall after 30 days.
After choosing how you want to save and manage the request, write a brief title and a description of your prayer request and choose the category that best describes it. Requests are submitted anonymously, so you do not need to provide your name or create an account.
For public requests, you can also decide whether you want to allow your testimony to be shared publicly in the future when you mark the prayer as answered. This option concerns the future testimony; a public request is public from the moment you submit it.
Before submitting the request, read the privacy notice carefully. Do not include personal or confidential information in a request that you do not want other people to see.
Managing Your Request, Management Key, and Diary Key
If you choose to keep and manage a public request, you will receive a Management Key after submitting it. Save this key in a safe place. You will need it later to access and manage that request. You can manage previously submitted public requests by going to the “Prayer Wall” page and selecting the provided link (“Manage a prayer request”) under the “Manage your prayer request” section at the top of the page.
A Management Key belongs to one public request. It is not the same as a Diary Key.
Private requests saved in your Prayer Diary do not use a Management Key. These requests are managed on the “My Prayer Diary” page with your Diary Key. Your diary is created when you submit your first private request, and that process also generates the Diary Key you will use to enter your diary whenever you wish.
Important: No type of key is stored on our servers. If you lose your Management Key or your Diary Key, we cannot recover it.
Praying for Others
On the «Prayer Wall», you can find requests that you and others have chosen to share publicly and choose which ones you will pray for. You can use the search and filters to find specific requests.
Here you can also let the community know that you are praying for a request by pressing the “Pray for this request” button at the bottom of each public request. You can press the button only once. You do not need to create an account to pray for a request.
Search and Filters
On the «Prayer Wall», you can search for a word or phrase in prayer requests, select a category, and choose the order in which requests are displayed. You can use these options separately or combine them to narrow the results.
If you need help using these features, the search and filter controls on the «Prayer Wall» provide brief instructions.
Answered Prayers
On the «Answered Prayers» page, you can see requests that you and other authors have marked as answered and chosen to share publicly.
You can use the search, category, and sorting options on that page to find specific answered prayers. When a prayer is answered, the person who submitted the request may also choose to share a brief testimony about how God answered the prayer. Sharing a testimony is optional.
Protecting Privacy
Prayer requests are submitted anonymously, but anonymity does not make the content you write in a request private. The main purpose of this program is to share prayer requests with the community so that they can include them in their prayers and you can include the requests of others in yours. If you decide to make a request public, other people will be able to read it on the Prayer Wall.
Before submitting a request, carefully consider what information you want to share. Do not include information that could identify another person without their permission, such as their full name, address, telephone number, email address, medical information, or other information that could identify them.
If you submit a public request that you want to manage later, save its Management Key. If you save a private request in your Prayer Diary, protect your Diary Key. These keys provide access to those requests.
Key Points to Remember
- You do not need to create an account with a username or password to use this program.
- Every request submitted for the community to pray for is public but anonymous; it does not reveal the identity of its author.
- When you submit a public request, the program generates a Management Key specific to that request.
- Each new public request generates a new Management Key different from the keys for other requests you have submitted. You must save each key to have individual access to those requests and to be able to move a request off the Prayer Wall and to the Answered Prayers page, as well as share your testimony with the community if you wish.
- A public request should not contain personal or confidential information about its author or anyone else. If you choose to include such information, you are giving up your right to confidentiality and privacy regarding that information.
- Whenever possible, consider including several related requests in a single form to minimize the number of Management Keys you will need to keep.
- A public request remains on the Prayer Wall until it is marked as answered; it will then appear only on the Answered Prayers page.
- A temporary public request automatically disappears from the Prayer Wall after 30 days.
- A prayer saved in My Prayer Diary is private: it is not shared with the community or published on the Prayer Wall.
- Only one Diary Key is needed to access My Prayer Diary and find all the personal and private prayers you have saved there.
- If you lose a key, whether the Management Key for public requests or the Diary Key for your personal diary containing your private prayers, it is impossible to recover or provide it to you. You will no longer have access to that information; you will have to create a new request or a new diary.
